This Gateway FX is a high-end gaming laptop from 2009 that shows what happens when a tech company in trouble cuts corners on their technology . Gateway's pc division was bought by eMachine's shortly before this, and though it did have a modular CPU, the GPU was soldered to save space, so when it eventually failed due to the bad solder NVIDIA was pumping out, it was nearly impossible to fix. This computer has an Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 and NVIDIA 8800M GTS, it had no problem playing games of that era until it died. I bought this off eBay to add to my mid-2000's chonk collection, and it's in great condition. But who knows how long it will last.
