Intrestinly it is possible to open the Chamber of Secrets since the Slytherin House student Ominus Gaunt is attending Hogwarts at the same time as your player character and he is a true air of Salazar Slytherin who can speak to snakes in parseltongue and would in theory be able to control the Basilisk that sleeps secretly under Hogwarts. It is also stated on the Wizarding World that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened multiple times between Salazar Slytherin and Tom Riddle (Voldemort) time.
