YouTube does allow you to blur parts of your footage after you'd published it, I know this because I've made this mistake before (no fool like an old fool). However, the new auto-dubbing tool, once a video is processed using this, prevents any blurring or trimming. I don't know how a blur could interfere with this, I just know that YouTube have greyed it out in the edit panel with a message explaining why it cannot be used. I'm also away with limited access to the video footage (I couldn't make this up could I), so I have had make some rudimentary changes to the video and re-upload it. One error I cannot fix from my hotel is the spelling error, I wrote FLIBLE instead of FLEXIBLE and didn't spot it before I compiled the video. There's worse things in life (like publishing your mobile number in a video - doh!) so this will remain for ever!
