How to replace a radiator for a bigger one! #asmr

On today’s video, I’m showing how to replace a radiator for a bigger one. I’ve been called out to a customers house because they wanted a new radiator in a bigger size and for that the pipework needed to be altered. With any work on radiator and heating systems we first need to drain the system down but the main problem that I had on this job was that the radiator in the room was below the front door so we had to get the hose pipe outside one way or another and using the Derblaue system, unable to drain the water from the radiator into a bucket and pump up over the top. With the radiator fully drained using the drain point I closed off the radiator valves and on the bottom nuts and lifted the radiator straight off. Hanging radiators is fairly simple. What I like to do is hoover the radiator in the location that you want that gives you the spot on the wall to Mark for your bracket location then you just need to work out the height of the radiator from the windowsill or from the floor and what I like to do is get the bracket on the back of the radiator and measure from the top of the radiator to the top of the bracket and then transfer that measurement onto the wall and you’re good to screw it up. Once you have hung your radiator, it’s time to fit some new valves and on this job I’m using liquid ptfe which is gripaloc from xpro. This stuff goes off pretty fast you have to be quick after you’ve put it on the fitting when you’re screwing it inside not to mess around once it’s tight as it works off zero oxygen and that happens fairly fairly quickly if you’re moving the fitting around using your spanner you can crack the seal. The radiator hung and the valves in place is time to pipe up onto the original pipes and for that it’s just a simple case of cutting the pipes out the way starting new and sold up order fittings from the pipework to the new valves . After all the work is done it’s time to fill the heating system up and Test for leaks and if you like today’s video please give it a tropic comment down below.
