But that failure leads to something much crazier. Buried in someone’s shed is a turbocharged racing engine, built to run on methanol, and rumoured to make over 300 horsepower. It’s an Alfa Sud block, but unlike anything I’ve seen before. We mock it up, dry build the setup, and figure out if this forgotten race engine could be the heart of the project.
