India’s exports surge 19.37% in November as trade deficit sharply narrows

India’s external trade showed a strong turnaround in November 2025, with exports jumping 19.37% year-on-year to $38.13 billion — the fastest growth since June 2022 and the highest monthly level since May. The rebound was led by engineering goods and electronics, signalling improving global demand for Indian manufacturing. At the same time, imports fell 1.88% to $62.66 billion, driven by sharply lower purchases of gold, crude oil, coal, and coke — with gold imports plunging more than 59%. As a result, India’s trade deficit narrowed significantly to $24.53 billion, from $41.68 billion in October.
