In this house, practical choices meet sentimental details: a kitchen bench (a settle) found on Instagram, initials carved into fresh plaster, copper pots carried across continents, and a pantry inspired by a Venetian apartment. We filmed on an ordinary day: parakeets and goldfinches chattering over the garden, the kitchen smelling like a tomato greenhouse, footsteps up and down four flights, and a black cat named Cato keeping watch. The rooms are gently reworked — orangery-style glazing for light, a library TV room so the middle doesn’t become a corridor, a tiny upstairs utility, and a bedroom suite built around original cornicing.
