I returned for another, deeper look into the city with a local - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Vf6U007zMQ The 15th episode of the Death of the High Street - NOTTINGHAM/SHIRE I am back in the Midlands with this video. I had heard a lot about Nottingham, and how the centre is looking really bare. I kept getting sent messages about making a trip so it was about time to check it out for myself. Before Nottingham, I made a quick stop at an empty shopping centre I had heard about in Grantham, Nottinghamshire. A familer sight, with only about 3 shops open. I also delved into just how much it would cost to open a shop in this place and it was crazily expensive. Business rates really are such a damaging factor along side online shopping and rent. I enjoyed my wanderings. I found the abandoned shops as expected but also friendly people and some awesome caves under the city which topped off the experience and I was glad to show a cool attraction.
