What happens when you follow a dream after 60? Join me for 5 unforgettable weeks as I share my real experience of learning French in Paris at 64. Come along on my journey as I explore daily life and experience joy and confidence living alone in this magical city: truly Thriving Gracefully. 🇫🇷✨ For four weeks, I attended Ecole Suisse Internationale, a wonderful French language school in the heart of Paris that welcomes adult learners from around the world. Each morning, I walked almost a mile to class—past boulangeries, markets, and cafés—soaking up everyday Paris life. Back at my cozy Paris apartment, I share my daily routines: shopping at local marchés, cooking simple meals, and finding joy in small moments like doing laundry and watching the city unfold outside my window. You’ll also see weekend trips to visit family in Mèze and a moving visit to Omaha Beach in Normandy, along with some of my favorite Paris museums and cultural highlights—including the re-opened Notre-Dame de Paris. Midway through my stay, I came down with Covid, and I’ll share how I managed it and the essentials I always pack to prepare for being sick when traveling solo. My final week brought pure joy when my friend Karen joined me in discovering an up-and-coming handbag brand called Fauvette, perfume-making at Galimard, a cooking workshop at Le Cordon Bleu, a glamorous visit to Galerie Dior, and a magical night at Le Moulin Rouge.
