This month turned out to be a bit easier for me. I decided to slow down and take a little rest, doing less work than usual — and it was the right choice. I’ve regained my energy and now feel fully ready to finish building the roof in the next episode. During a powerful thunderstorm, a birch tree was knocked down by the wind. I didn’t want to waste the opportunity, so I stripped the bark and used it to make traditional birch tar. This is a highly versatile product that can be used in many areas, but I chose to turn it into a healing salve — something I often use for small cuts and skin wounds. I also spent time planting a variety of vegetables in my garden, which I’ll be using for food in the future as I continue this rustic, self-sufficient life.
