Legends such as Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan made their Smackdown game return, and fans could choose from main roster favourites such as John Cena, Dave Batista, Triple H, Edge, Shawn Michaels and Triple H. WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2006 introduced grapple fans to a brand new mode that would prove to be quite popular; GM Mode. Fans could now book matches and call the shots backstage while competing against the opposing brand for TV Ratings supremacy.
