Video Description

For an antique stapler restoration, I need new slotted brass screws of special sizes and thread shape. After measuring a M3.5 with a pitch of 0.6mm I started turning it on the lathe. For the standard pitch of 0.6mm I was able to use the build in gear set up in the lathe without any changes. In total I need three new ones. The thread on the original screws were quite flat on the thread crest. Therefore, I didn’t cut as deep as the DIN standard states. The thread itself has a standard 60 degrees angle. The slots I cut precisely on the vertical mill.
