In this video, I’m testing out the NEEWER 67mm True Colors Hard Stop Variable ND Filter, which offers ND2-32 coverage (1-5 stops). This filter is multi-coated for HD optical clarity, with a sturdy aluminum frame that resists water, scratches, and fingerprints. I’ll be focusing on a few key features: the “No X Cross” effect, color accuracy (the "True Colors" claim), and the hard stop clicks when adjusting the filter. Starting off, I liked the packaging; it’s recyclable, and the box design caught my eye with its vibrant colors. A unique mention goes to its "Roller Beads" mechanism, which sounds interesting—though I’m not quite sure what it does! But what I do know is that this filter feels solid with a design that’s practical for durability. The front diameter is slightly larger to help avoid vignetting on wider lenses, so while this filter is 67mm, you’ll need a 72mm lens cap to cover it. I’ll be testing this at 24mm to see if there’s any edge darkening. One downside: adjusting the filter during recording may cause the sound of clicking and a bit of shake. To see how this filter performs with color and clarity, I’ll compare it to a generic 3-stop ND filter. Spoiler alert: this generic filter causes a noticeable color cast, but the Neewer has surprised me by keeping a neutral tone, only adding a very slight warm shift. Using my iPad Pro’s calibrated OLED display, I’ll show indoor tests where the Neewer filter does subtly warm up some parts of the frame—but nothing dramatic. In video use, the filter lived up to its "No X Cross" claim. Plus, I didn’t see any vignetting between 24mm and 50mm, which is impressive. Overall, I’m happy to say that Neewer’s filter brings quality you can see. It gives solid neutral density coverage with minimal impact on image clarity, keeping things consistent even in wide-angle shots. Thanks for watching!
