Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 went head-to-head during Black Friday week, and the results surprised a lot of people. Despite being nearly five years old, the PS5 dominated U.S. and UK console hardware sales, claiming the majority of unit share during one of the most important shopping events of the year. The Switch 2, which has only been on the market for about six months, finished a distant second, marking its first major sales stress test against Sony during peak holiday demand. The timing strongly suggests this was a demand-driven pricing shift designed to stimulate sales rather than a routine holiday promotion.
