Repairing four thrift store CD players - which is best?

Although most of my CD player repair projects come from eBay, I do occasionally find them in thrift stores too. This video features four such players which cost just over $50 in total. Since they didn't really merit individual videos, I've combined them into one. First is a Sharp DX-650 from 1987. The tray wouldn't open and it was disgustingly dirty, but would it play after a quick service? Next is the Pioneer PD-101 from 1992. This one wasn't reading discs, so naturally I suspected that the lens had fallen out. This one was much cleaner than the Sharp, but the Pioneer badge had broken off the front. See how I get on in my attempts to make a replacement. Thirdly we'll look at the MTC MCD471R from 1988. I'd never heard of this brand before, but I liked a lot about this unit. It was working when I tested it, albeit sluggishly, but the LCD backlight had gone. Finally I tackle the Sony CDP-190 from 1990. This budget machine was also working but had a strange white residue on the tray. This was the most expensive unit of the four, but is the the best?
