The Primarchs, demigod sons of the Emperor of Mankind, displayed a wide range of personalities and capabilities. So, let's rank 'em into a tier list! If you've been following my channel you'll know I love to talk about the Primarchs, and I find them to be not only the most compelling characters in Warhammer 40K and the Horus Heresy, but in all of fiction. The genefathers of the Adeptus Astartes are literal gods among men, created by the Emperor of Mankind and each exhibiting an aspect of his personality. When I was really into playing Warhammer in the early days of the game, through the turn of the century, the Primarchs were only myth and legend. Characters we were never supposed to see in Warhammer 40K, they were basically Games Workshop giving us the grimdark future's version of Hercules or Gilgamesh. Legendary, for sure, but more than likely just myth and perhaps not even based on reality. After all, even in the far future, 10,000 years is a long time, and the Imperium is a society of extreme superstition and thrives on belief and faith. It is no wonder they have lost many of the truths that surround the Primarchs and the events they took place in. Including the Horus Heresy, the Great Crusade, the Siege of Terra, Rangdan Xenocides, etc. Some Primarchs are amazing, and whether loyal or traitor have a huge fan base. Others are almost universally seen as trash. I try to be as objective as I can be, and stick to my own opinions despite being aware of how the community at large looks at the individual Primarchs.
