Scammer Caught Using Stolen Credit Card & Fake ID to Buy $12K Rolex at Pawn Shop

Boca Raton, FL - on May 7th 2025, police responded to a local pawn shop after receiving a call about a woman attempting to fraudulently purchase a Rolex watch for over $12,000. After arriving on scene, officers learn the woman is attempting to use a stolen credit card and suspicious identification, which tipped off the pawn shop owners to the scam. Her ID displayed the fake alias 'Emily Miranda', however when checked in different systems, comes back to different or no information. After continuing to lie to police, officers eventually bring a fingerprint scanner to the scene, which confirms her real identity as 27-year-old Alina Arencibia. She was charged with fraudulent use of credit card, possession of a fraudulent drivers license, and providing a false name to police.
