Today it is time for a little bit of nostalgia. When I was a kid we would go on family ski trips to Germany in the winter and during one of those trips I bought Snowboard Kids in a tiny toy store at a local village. I had never heard of Snowboard Kids, but the box art was super colorful and cute. I ended up really liking Snowboard Kids and it always would have a connection to that ski trip and Germany where I would play it in the cozy, warm hotel while it was cold outside. Snowboard Kids is basically a party racer with a few twists here and there. You play against three other racers as you snowboard your way down a mountain. Instead of a lap that keeps repeating you actually take the ski lift at the bottom and start again at the top for the second or third round. It is a simple concept that actually feels fresh. The character designs are great and varied, the locations are vibrant and the music is also catchy. There is plenty to unlock as well including new characters, new racetracks and also new snowboards. Since I was so young I actually never managed to unlock all the different races, so in a way it has gone full circle to where I now have completed and archived this nostalgic game when I am an adult. #snowboardkids #atlus #retrogames #retrogaming #nintendo64 #n64
