The Shangri-La Class Starship entered into canon from Picard series 3 as a precursor USS Titan, in this case the NCC-1777 under the command of Captain Saavik. This class was based on the constitution profile but built as an attack cruiser for anti-Klingon operations and skirmishes with its torpedo and phaser loadout and powerful impulse engines.
