Step back in time to the 1930s | Relaxing UK Museum House Tour
Through Lucy's Lens

Hello. I'm Lucy, social historian, teacher and your serially nosy friend from Birmingham in the United Kingdom. I love to find interesting historical places and museums, and hopefully you will think they are interesting too! I am a social historian so instead of dates and politics I love to research people and particularly love the history of the working classes, how people lived, what they ate, where they worked & their stories .. I love palaces too but you are more likely to find me in the kitchen than the throne room. Lets go somewhere together every week. It's great to have you here as my companion. Hit that subscribe button - it really motivates me and always drop a comment - I love chatting to people from all over the world and we have a great community of history lovers in the comments! I try to upload once a week at 8pm Sunday GMT time, make sure you hit the notification bell so you are the first to know when I release a new video. Lucy :)

Video Description
In this weeks video I step back in time to the 1930s to show you a real hidden gem at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley, United Kingdom. As you know I love the Black Country Museum, it is one of my favourite places in the world but I had never seen this 1930s flat / apartment before and it was wonderful. I will show you the 1930s rooms then my highlights of the 1930s High Street. The 1930s High Street at The Black Country Living Museum was opened in 2010 after a group of buildings from Birmingham Street, Oldbury were moved brick by brick to the museum. The street contains not only the living accommodation but also a Tobacconist, Motorcycle Shop, Radio repair shop and the famous Hobbs Fish and Chip Shop that has queues around the block during busy season. My name is Lucy, I am a social historian, museum lover and very nosy person! I love to take you on my adventures showing you what I feel are the best museums and historical attractions. As well as the museums themselves I like to tell the story of the real people who lived before us. I film record, edit, research and publish everything myself and while I am a happy amateur at creating videos I absolutely love it! Please join the amazing community of social history lovers in the comments and consider subscribing to my channel, I really appreciate it. #socialhistory #socialhistoryofengland #museumvlog #museumexploration #museumtour #1930s #1930shome #hometour #historicalhome #workingclasshistory #blackcountry #blackcountrylivingmuseum #heritagepreservation #heritage #heritageandtradition #interwaryears #history #hiddengems
