I've been desperate to do this as at first the TCR looked like a weak impersonation of the Clubsport but then I saw the bigger brakes, higher (permanent) power output, unique colour option and heard the fruitier exhaust note and was impressed. I was then disappointed by the fact you couldn't order bucket seats, or a manual gearbox or (eventually) even 3 doors. The fact it lost the Clubsport's aero kit was a shame too, instead it got standard GTI bumpers with more aggressive bits clipped onto them to differentiate it from the GTI Performance (and GTD/GTE). So it was all to play for when I visited Brackley to drive APS (http://www.autops.co.uk) director Ed Jackson's brand new example with just 700 mile on the clock. Ed's car was specced in quite an unusual way which made comparison a little bit tricky but ultimately we got there in the end, keep watching to hear the verdict!
