When was the last time you heard a friend tell you “I like watching souls games, but I don’t play them myself!” Elden Ring Night Reign was supposed to be that souls game to bridge your enjoyment of Elden Ring and push your friends to try it out, but Fromsoft made a terrible mistake! They assumed I had friends! Night Reign is easily the most ambitious souls game ever made, it’s a 3 player, co-op roguelike rush to prep for a final team fight boss that’s also a complete asset flip of Elden Ring for a very specific type of souls player from a studio that has never made a roguelike before with a complete new team at Fromsoft creating it! Elden Ring Night Reign is also the least ambitious souls game ever made for those same reasons and it plays everything so safe within just elden ring leading to fans calling it one big mod! Another reason for it not feeling ambitious is because like so many other games, it combines genres that the developer has never done before, it’s collecting the “roguelite, battle royale, co-op, action adventure, story game” tags like it's the infinity stones in a corporate thanos gauntlet and how many games at this point have done something similar!
