Following up a highly controversial season of television by adapting a highly controversial video game in a franchise where the fans are divided on just about every major event and character isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do. So were they gonna adapt the game faithfully to please the fans of the game but continue isolating the people who didn’t like it, or were they gonna change things up a bit and try to please the people who didn’t like the game and alienate the people who were fans? Or were they not gonna do any of that and cater towards the show-only fans? The result is a season that feels like it’s trying to do all three at the same time.
