Known for its friendly people, Malawi is rich in culture, natural beauty, and history. Geography: Malawi is dominated by Lake Malawi, the third-largest lake in Africa, which runs along the country’s eastern border. The landscape is made up of highlands, plateaus, forests, and fertile valleys, with the Shire River running through the south. Economy: The economy is largely agricultural, with crops like tobacco, tea, sugarcane, and maize playing central roles. Fishing, particularly on Lake Malawi, is also important. The country faces economic challenges including poverty and underdevelopment, but there are ongoing efforts to diversify and improve the economy. People and Culture: With over 18 million inhabitants, Malawi is ethnically diverse, with Chewa, Lomwe, Yao, and Tumbuka being some of the largest groups.
