In the largest undercover investigation of its kind, Marketplace spot checks 100 businesses, from fast food to retail, mechanics and self-serve kiosks. We count up who’s asking for a tip, why, and where all that extra money is really going. It’s illegal for companies and owners to pocket tips in some provinces but we discover it's happening anyway. In other provinces, there are no laws and thus no guarantee your tip is actually going to the person you think you're giving it to. What do you think about present-day tipping culture?
