But what if there was a way to stop the plastic before it ever reaches the sea? In the Kukës region of Albania, rivers from three countries come together, along with all their trash. With no proper waste management in place, tons of plastic collect behind a local dam and eventually washes downstream. The result? A floating wall of trash on its way to the sea. That’s why, in our 27th mission, we partnered with a team that has an ambitious plan to stop the plastic and keep it out of the sea for good.
