We thought it was just another night training exercise at Fort Bragg. Standard navigation drill through Longstreet Training Area. But when the fog rolled in, everything changed. Our team started disappearing one by one into a clearing that doesn't exist on any map. What we found there was a watchtower that shouldn't be possible - leaning in the mist, with a door leading underground. The soldiers we encountered weren't alive, but they weren't dead either. They were trapped, bound to a place that feeds on memory and makes you forget who you are. Some of us made it out. Some didn't. Lieutenant Caldwell and Private Whitaker are still listed as missing. The official report calls it disorientation and exposure. But I know what really happened that night. This is my account of what waits in the fog at Fort Bragg, and why certain training areas remain off-limits after dark. If you've ever served there, you know the silence. You know how the fog moves.
