Today we’re spending a full day in Kanazawa, Japan, one of the most beautiful Japanese cities, and I’m going to show you exactly what to do, how to get around, and delicious Japanese food you have to try when you visit Kanazawa. 7:30 AM We’re starting at the iconic Kanazawa train station. It’s just a 2 hour bullet train ride from Tokyo. 8 AM Omicho Market, Kanazawa, Japan (https://maps.app.goo.gl/K1BmUJPTUQMFyUYW6) - This market is a 300 year old Edo era market with all sorts of amazing fresh food and things to eat. I tried the famous Omicho Croquette. Price - 930 JPY ($6.10) for both 9 AM Iki-iki Tei, Omicho Market, Kanazawa (https://maps.app.goo.gl/6E4mAZ7LEjAb3Lss9) - This little restaurant is known for serving the freshest fish and seafood possible, and their donburi was excellent. Price - 3,500 JPY ($22.96) 10 AM Kanazawa Castle, Kanazawa, Japan Price - 500 JPY ($3.28) combination ticket 11 AM Kenroku-en Garden, Kanazawa, Japan - Welcome to one of Japan’s most beautiful Japanese gardens. This is the most relaxing place on earth! 1 PM Turban Curry, Kanazawa, Japan (https://maps.app.goo.gl/MGdL4SF6KueGENJU9) - Kanazawa is famous around Japan for their Japanese curry, and I had to try it out. Price - 1,200 JPY ($7.87) 2 PM Higashi Chaya District, Kanazawa, Japan - Probably the most iconic area to visit when you’re in Kanazawa is the tea district of Higashi Chaya District where you’ll find beautiful wooden architecture, tea houses, and gold leaf ice cream. Gold Leaf Ice Cream - 900 JPY ($5.95) 3 PM Amano Tea Shop (https://maps.app.goo.gl/pAGzT4mW2fUX8BTz5) - This little tea shop was right off the main Higashi Chaya lane, and the matcha was fantastic. Price - 1,300 JPY ($8.55) 4:30 PM Nagamachi Samurai District - Another area you have to explore in Kanazawa is the Nagamachi Samurai District where you can see how Samurai lived. Nomura-ke Samurai Heritage Residence. Price - 550 JPY ($3.62) 6:30 PM Gyohan, Kanazawa, Japan (https://maps.app.goo.gl/dkqCNRNLb7VBNJrY7) - Another Japanese dish you have to try in Kanazawa is Jibu-ni, Kanazawa style duck stew that dates back to the Samurai times. Price - 2,800 JPY ($18.43) Kanazawa is an amazing city in Japan with so much to offer, and this was an action packed day!
