Easy ESL Game: Hot Seat Hot Seat is a game that's similar to taboo and can be played as a whole class or in teams. Materials Whiteboard A chair facing away from the whiteboard (1 per group) with the rest of the group facing the whiteboard and gathered near the student who is guessing Instructions The teacher writes up a word, phrase, or entire sentence (modify based on your students' level) and says "go." Students facing the whiteboard try to explain the word, phrase, or sentence to their teammate facing away from the board WITHOUT saying any of the words on the board. Once the student believes they have the answer, they did not raise their hand and check with the teacher.
