Scotty Hasting joined the Army knowing that he wanted to be on the frontline, hunting down the enemy. In April of 2011, while serving in the Kandahar region of Afghanistan as an Army Infantryman with the 1st Infantry Division 4th Squadron 4th Cavalry, he was left fighting for his life after being ambushed and shot ten times. Thanks to the life-saving efforts of his team and the medical professionals who treated him, Scotty survived and made a near full recovery. Despite the permanent loss of feeling in most of his right hand, Scotty taught himself to play the guitar by watching YouTube videos. Today, Scotty is a successful country music singer on a new mission to help other veterans struggling with PTSD.
