It’s time for a little instant gratification after a year of engine rebuilds, ECU tuning, and setbacks on my 1980 Volvo 242 T5 project. Today, I’m installing one of the rarest and best looking headlight setups ever offered on the Volvo 240 — European 8" round single headlights. These never came to the U.S., and I’ve been hunting them down for years. This video is more than just a headlight swap — we’ll do a side-by-side comparison of 7" vs. 8" rounds, give a step-by-step look at applying LaminX to protect the lenses, and completely transform 45-year old plastic headlight trim bezels and grille.
