New Metal In, Old Problems Out! Rear Frame Upgrades 🔥| Franna Crane Project | Part 29

Video Description

Welcome back to Part 29 of our Franna Crane Project where we continue battling our way through the rear frame upgrades! With some wet weather on the way, first job on the list is getting the new sheet metal for the top deck coated in etch primer. Once that’s sorted, it’s time to bring the rear frame back in and start piecing things together. We get to work fabricating and welding the new engine mounts so we can re-fit the engine and lock those mounts into position properly. From there, we line up and tack in the new articulation joint plate, followed by the corner plates in the rear wheel arches, things are looking good! Next we jump into prepping the top deck: broken bolts to remove, holes to fill, welds to clean up and plates to test fit. Nothing ever goes smoothly the first time, but now we’re happy with how it all lines up so we lay down some sickaflex, position the new top plates, and tack them into place. With a bit of time left, we have a crack at drilling out the old wiring holes from the wheel arches to the tail lights – only to find a heap of rust, steel, and tangled wiring ready to give us grief!
