This is Remake It! Where we take another look at characters in Smash Bros. whose fighter designs have aged poorly, wandered too far out-of-character, or could otherwise benefit from a revisit, then theorycraft what a reworked and improved version of their moveset, playstyle, and other details might look like! Up this time is someone whose core design isn't too shabby...but some other stuff about him could really use some work. Bowser's been a Smash staple since Melee, and the way he fights nowadays fits him pretty well! But he's still presented in a way that doesn't quite fit right. Even with the design updates he got in Smash 4, there's still a lot relying on his original depiction in Melee, where he looked and acted more like a mindless, raging beast instead of the boisterous evil overlord he's been in the actual Mario games for ages! But how could the next Smash Bros. retool Bowser to bring out the parts of his personality that have made him such an iconic villain? And can it be done without screwing up the parts of his Smash design that already fit him well?
