This is Remake It! Where we take another look at characters in Smash Bros. whose fighter designs have aged poorly, wandered too far out-of-character, or could otherwise benefit from a revisit, then theorycraft what a reworked and improved version of their moveset, playstyle, and other details might look like! This time our attention is on someone who hasn't felt fully like himself in Smash since...ever, really. While Luigi may be the less confident, more fearful, and occasionally awkward second banana compared to his brother, his Smash moveset has relied on being a weirder version of Mario's since the beginning, a take on him that has felt increasingly shallow after everything he's gone through since the late '90s. Even worse, his highly polarized moveset and reliance on cheesing his way to wins has, somehow, turned a character people want to see succeed in his own games into one of the most toxic and disliked on the roster! But what if we could do something about that? A second look for Luigi could revitalize his design, add in more moves that are uniquely his (in various ways), and turn him into a fighter people want to cheer for instead of against!
