Newt Gingrich, a former Republican congressman, was the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. He is the author of several books, including Understanding Trump and March to the Majority: The Real Story of the Republican Revolution. The following interview was conducted by the Kirk Documentary Group’s Mike Wiser for FRONTLINE on April 2, 2024, prior to Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race.
