Before we get into the nitty gritty of this vlog, we wanted to make sure that you knew we inserted "The Scoop" at the 12:40 mark. This episode brought Aaron and Matt out to the Boston Harbor to meet up with the folks over at Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company. GLDD was working on a large-scale dredging operation that included a massive Liebherr 996 excavator dredging rock at the bottom of the ocean (ps. it's the largest waterside excavator In the United States), a bucket barge with 10-foot wide buckets, and an active ship channel with 5 different work areas. The goal of this project was to dredge up a 47-foot channel so that they could bring in much larger ships at any tide. Also to NOTE: There were multiple obstacles to watch out for in this project… Like... 1. Spuds! (a specialized type of barge) The Apache rig had 4 of them that anchor her in place. 2.
