Video Description

President Trump's first stage of his Gaza peace plan has been agreed by Israel and Hamas following indirect talks alongside Türkiye, Egypt and Qatar. All hostages held by Hamas – of whom about 20 are thought to be alive – will be freed following a pause in hostilities from Israel. The remains of the other hostages will follow. Around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners are to be freed from Israeli jails. The prospect of peace in the Middle East looks better than at any point since Israel’s war on Gaza started two years ago. But what would a lasting peace deal look like? Will the people of Gaza have any say on their future? And will Israel finally end its genocide? Joining Enda Brady for this special episode of Roundtable from Istanbul: Hassan Ben Imran Legal Advisor at Law for Palestine Alanna O’Malley Head of History Department at Erasmus University Sultan Barakat Professor of Public Policy at Hamad Bin Khalifa University and Senior Associate Fellow at RUSI #GAZA #PEACEINGAZA #ISRAEL #PALESTINE #gazapeaceplan Roundtable is a discussion programme with an edge.
