This was a commissioned project for one of my favorite clients, and so this piece is not for sale. One of the goals of this piece was to maintain the natural edge of the burl. As I found out in my recent video (“Exploding this burl for art”), it would have been almost impossible for an engrain olive burl to remain intact on the lathe without some form of stabilizer. TotalBoat penetrating epoxy was on point for this one, and of course my trusty Minwax wood hardener and Starbond CA glues were indispensable. Even though I got plenty of chip out from the end grain, I felt lucky when the piece was finally done. Please let me know what you think of this project by leaving a comment below!
