About

Welcome to my channel, I Do Cars. Its an answer to the awkward question "So what do you do?". On my channel you'll find videos of the dumb and overzealous car projects I take on personally. You'll also find videos of getting cars running that are either wrecked, or have been sitting for a long time. There will be some how-to repair videos as well because showing people how to fix their vehicle themselves is what I love to do. Of course, you'll find engine teardown videos. Lots, and lots of engine teardown videos. One a week, at least. I own and run an auto salvage operation and part of our model is tearing down bad or core engines and selling the parts. Taking these engines apart is just another day in the office, so I'm happy to bring you along! Video Description

Today I'm tearing down a 5.9L Cummins Turbodiesel from a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. This engine is from a 368,000 roofers truck that I bought for parts and IT RUNS! But, just because it runs, doesn't make it a good engine. It ran terrible, misfiring constantly and pushing a LOT of crankcase pressure known as blowby, out of the oil cap hole. In this video I tear it all the way down to find the root cause of its symptoms and see what parts survived the likely rough life this truck lived. Why am I doing this? My name is Eric and I own Importapart. A full service auto dismantler. Part of our model includes dismantling blown up, failed and otherwise bad engines to salvage the good parts. We do not rebuild engines, merely supply parts to those who do! TO BUY PARTS, visit www.Importapart.com OR email us at [email protected] Every single week, I post a new teardown video of a blown up, failed, or thought to be bad engine to figure out what went wrong, why, and what could be salvaged from it.
