朱競翔，香港中文大學建築學院教授。如何將房子做「輕」一直是建築師朱競翔的興趣與方向。自2008年以來，他和香港中文大學建築學院的團隊研發了一系列輕型房屋系統，並在多個國家與地區進行實踐與應用。他們曾用30天時間在非洲貧民窟建起一所500平方米的學校，為600多個孩子提供學習空間;「童趣園」系列如今已建成100多座校舍和遊樂園，遍布中國13個省市自治區的偏遠村落，當地居民與志願者一起合作，花上幾天時間就能很快地安裝完成，為孩子們創造一個開放式的教育環境。 「我會提到幾個創紀錄的工作，因為它可以讓大家看到，當建築變輕之後能帶來多大的益處。其中有在4000米玉樹高原的學校的建造，有在鄱陽湖地區水位變化5米之上的建造，也有9000公里之外的肯尼亞地區條件艱險的貧民區的建造，也有供應鏈速度非常之快的，從訂貨到交貨大概只需要60天左右的建造。」 「鋼筋混凝土給不了靈活性，它把一代又一代人鎖在土地上，變成可悲的房奴。」
