Hey and welcome to The LiFe in Pines! 🌲We're Ted and Jenna. (CJ, Finley and our clan of Goldens, too!) We started this channel as a way to document building an off grid tree house on our property, but the Lord led us in a different direction soon after we began. We ended up buying an 1890’s home in a small tourist town to rent as an AIRBNB. So we gutted it, fixed ALL that was wrong with it, and put it back together! We’ve done renovation work before, but NOTHING of this magnitude. We took on this massive project by ourselves, all while homeschooling our kids, running our hobby farm, Ted working his full time hospital job and of course keeping it REAL! Now that the home is complete, we got right back to building our off-grid treehouse! We hope you'll follow along... and if you can't learn from us, we hope you can laugh with us! Plans kept changing, things kept breaking down and we just felt completely stuck. It was a week of feeling like the devil was on our backs. Nothing horrible, but enough to just be annoying and frustrating and makes your day just a little bit harder. We pulled through and were able to complete the plumbing for the basement bathroom, and we're officially ready to concrete it in! We were also blessed with TONS of free firewood for Teds family cabin. Ted and his brother cut all the logs, we all helped split, and the kids loaded it in sleds, hauled it by snowmobile over to the cabin and unloaded it there. It was a long and hard days work, but we are so thankful to now have enough wood to heat the cabin for 5 years!
