Major Hurricane Coming! In this video, Hurricane Melissa will move directly into Jamaica with devastating winds and catastrophic flooding... JAMAICA: Hurricane Melissa is coming. Please finish ALL HURRICANE PREPARATIONS as soon as possible. Do what you need to do to keep you and your family safe. PLEASE check on neighbors in the community that may need extra help getting to shelters, or may need additional food and water. It is not easy. Thank you for helping others. It is always better to go through a storm together, so thank you for checking on those that are alone. The Storm Surge, especially along the Southeast Coast (Kingston) will be life-threatening! A 2-3 Meter Surge is LIKELY! Water will move into the areas that I highlight in the video. Please seek a safer location! The winds will be around 150 mph where this comes onshore, with higher gusts. That will lead to heavy damage to weaker structures and damage to strong structures. Heavy roof damage or complete removal off roofs is likely in the core of this Hurricane. Please seek the best place you can to ride out this storm. It will be a long-duration event, from Sunday into Tuesday. The worst Hurricane Impacts will be late Monday into Early Tuesday. The flooding could be catastrophic. Some locations, especially in Central and Eastern Jamaica, could get 700 mm or rain! This is life-threatening. If you are near water, in an area that typical floods, or at risk for mudslides, please do your best (not easy!) to find a better location for this Hurricane. Some communities may be cut-off from others for days. Please do what you can to have multiple days of food and water on hand. Power loss will last weeks, if not longer. HAITI: The flooding will get worse. The Tiburon Peninsula will experience over 500 mm of additional rain! Rockslides will happen. Rivers will not be passable. Communities will become isolated for a period of time. Locations may get cut-off from their typical well-water locations. Please, please help others get to a safer locations, if they need to. Thank you. EAST CUBA: "Action Mode" . Start to make Hurricane Preparations. The southeast BAHAMAS and TURKS AND CAICOS may need to go into Action Mode soon. This is a life-threatening Hurricane. Impacts will be high. With that, we've done this before, and by the middle of next week, Jamaica and Haiti aren't going anywhere.
