The Indian Air Force confirmed that the domestically-built aircraft went down while performing an aerobatic display at around 2:10 PM. US and Indian media reported that officials are investigating the cause of the crash, whether it was due to a technical fault or pilot error. The Tejas aircraft had been part of the Indian Air Force fleet since 2016. Following the incident, the fighter jet demonstration segment of the air show was halted for safety measures. Tejas demonstrations are usually a major attraction for the spectators at the Dubai Air Show. The Ministry of Interior has issued a notification for the deployment of Pakistan Army, Civil Armed Forces, and local police for the November 23 by-elections. The Election Commission has also granted the designated military and civil officers First-Class Magistrate powers. According to the notification: On election day, the civil forces will serve as the second-tier quick reaction units, while the Pakistan Army will act as the third-tier quick reaction force. From November 22 to 24, Army and Civil Armed Forces will remain in standby/response mode. Rangers will operate as immediate response units within the third line of defense. The deployed forces are authorized to: Act under the Criminal Procedure Code against any violations, unrest, or criminal activity. Fully exercise powers under the Anti-Terrorism Act. Prevent any unlawful activity, violence, or obstruction during the election process.
