Use the desktop shortcut to open a Command Prompt [03:59] Android enthusiasts execute ADB and Fastboot commands for all sorts of different tasks. Many use it to unlock the bootloader, others use it as a quicker way to reboot into special boot modes like Recovery Mode, Fastboot Mode, or Download Mode. In order to use those commands though, you need to have the tools installed on your PC. Google has some official binaries that can be extracted and used, but someone on XDA repackaged it to create Minimal ADB & Fastboot Tools. I generally recommend beginners use this as it comes with an easy-to-use installer, gives you a quick way to change the installation direction, and will let you create a Desktop shortcut at the end of the install process. This desktop shortcut is very useful for those who are not familiar with the command line as it will open up a Command Prompt right in the correct folder you're supposed to be in (to execute those ADB and Fastboot commands).
