MYSTERY Sword Restoration! What is this Blade?

Hi! Today restoration of mystery old sword. The sword doesn’t belong to me — I was asked to restore it, very carefully. I think it's African blade like Tuareg Takuba sword? Or? but I'm not sure - if You now it, please leave a comment. Its condition is generally good, but there’s a lot of leather — and even decorated with ornaments. Leather, as you know, can be tricky to restore, so I’ll need to work slowly and pay close attention. The blade has some rust, not much, but it’s deep. Well, I’ll do my best to fix that and start the restoration. First, to soften the rust, I used acetic acid and regular vinegar, heating the mixture slightly to about 50–60°C. I applied it to the blade and went over it gently with a soft steel brush. After that, I coated the blade generously with WD-40, wrapped it in plastic, covered it with a cloth, and left it for a full day to let the rust loosen completely. The next day, I resumed cleaning — using jeweler’s sandpaper and fine abrasive paper. Once the blade was done, I moved on to the handle. It’s covered with thin leather, so I had to be extremely careful. I used all my skills in leatherwork to preserve and restore it as much as possible. In some areas, I applied acrylic paint; in others — a mixture of pva glue and warm water. The pommel turned out to be made of brass, which I carefully cleaned. Next step — oil treatment. I used linseed oil to nourish the leather. The scabbard of this sword is about 90% leather, with only the inner core made of wood. To restore the scabbard, I used a mixture of water and glue again. I inserted a small leather patch inside the tip, where there was a hole, and glued it with special leather adhesive. Then I treated the entire piece with leather conditioner. I also restored a section of the leather cord and the part where the suspension strap attaches. There was quite a bit of work — some parts I had to reinforce with thin thread matching the color of the original material. After all the procedures, I finished by coating everything again with linseed oil, lubricated the blade, and finally returned this beautiful artifact to its happy owner. Sincerely, Alex.
