Restoration of Highland Scottish Dirk Dagger

Hello, Restoration today is Scottish Dirk highlander dagger. For a long time I wanted to get this blade, and now I'm finally lucky enough to have it. The condition of the object is average, there is no handle, scabbard, but the blade does not have deep rust, which pleases me. Well, I'm starting to restore the dagger. Before the restoration, I took into account the historical details and dimensions of this object. I used natural and cleaning products to restore and clean this blade. Firstly, I used a soft iron brush to clean the dirt and surface rust. Next, I used several solutions such as vinegar, salt, baking soda, cleaning powder, ketchup, hot vinegar, and additional cleaning products. After a few days, the blade was completely cleaned. At the last stage, I sanded the surface of the blade with diamond paste and started creating the handle. I did not use any mechanical devices in cleaning the blade, only manually to keep the entire history of the blade on the surface. According to tradition, I made the hilt of the blade from beech wood, but the first blank deteriorated, as did the next two. It was only the fourth time that I managed to keep all the necessary dimensions and proportions of the handle. After shaping the desired shape, I turned to sanding and made a through hole in the handle for the tang of the dagger. I extended the shank of the dagger with a thread and an additional pin, which I mounted by welding. After I cut the threads, I glued all the pieces together. I used leather, brass and a nickel silver nut for the handle end. After drying, I started sanding the handle and gave it the desired shape. Also carved various decorative elements on the dagger handle, as was the case on historical Dirk daggers. After the handle was completely ready, I moved on to creating a wood scabbard for the highlander dagger. I used dry wood for the scabbard, cut out the desired shape, glued, processed the scabbard. After shaping the necessary shapes, I glued the scabbard with dark natural leather and moved on to creating accessories. For this, I used old brass blanks from a previous restoration project. I used silver and brass for soldering. After gluing, I processed the accessories of the scabbard, cleaned and mounted on the scabbard. For the sheath, I additionally added a leather suspension on a rivet so that it could be worn on a belt. After completing the restoration of the dagger, I made an interesting test for you.
